Reading Art Book Club Meets at Las Cruces Museum of Art

The Reading Art Book Club (RABC) will hold its next meeting at 2:30 on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at the Las Cruces Museum of Art. The meeting will focus on the book I am Madame X by Gioia Dilberto. Set during the Belle Epoque period in Paris, this novel is the story John Singer Sargent and the unveiling of the scandalous painting “Madame X.” Upcoming book selections include Frederick Turner’s In the Land of the Temple Caves for March 11th and The Madonna’s of Leningrad by Debra Dean for April 8th.

The Reading Art Book Club is dedicated to exploring the connections between art and literature by reading and discussing books. As much as possible, books selected will relate, echo, or enhance the Museum’s varied exhibitions. The club meets the second Wednesday of every month.

The Las Cruces Museum of Art is located at 491 N. Main St. in the downtown mall. For more information about exhibits and Studio Programs art classes call 575-541-2137 or visit the website http://museums.las-cruces.org
