Las Cruces Issues Roundtable

The Association of Commerce and Industry (ACI) annually presents its “Issues Roundtable” throughout the state in preparation for the upcoming legislative session. The Las Cruces Issues Roundtable will be held on Wednesday, August 29^th at the Best Western Mesilla Valley Inn. The luncheon is being hosted again this year by the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce, the Las Cruces and Rio Grande Rotary Clubs and the Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance (MVEDA).

The program is scheduled from 12:00 noon to 1:30pm with registration check-in beginning at 11:30am. Luncheon cost is $9.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door. Pre-registration information is included on the attached flyer.

This luncheon will replace the regular “Business on the Border Forum” originally scheduled for Tuesday, September 4^th (day after Labor Day).

Energy Efficiency Design Workshop

El Paso Electric is holding an Energy Efficiency Design Workshop for new buildings of all types as well as retrofit of existing buildings. The workshop will be held at the El Paso Electric Engineering Building at 555 S. Compress.

MVEDA Business on the Border Forum

The August meeting of the MVEDA Business on the Border Forum will be held on
Tuesday, August 7, 2007 from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM at the Best Western
Mesilla Valley Inn Columbus Conference Center. The meeting will begin with a
hot entree buffet followed by an update from MVEDA staff.

This month's topic, "The Las Cruces Economy is Sizzling; Now for Act II,"
will be presented by Dr. Christopher Erickson. Dr. Erickson has served on
the faculty of the NMSU Department of Economics and International Business
since 1987. He is the Executive Editor of the New Mexico Business Outlook.

Luncheon cost is $10.00 per person, payable by cash, check or major credit
card. The meeting is open to the public and reservations are not required.
